The Jet-Pack Story ... A story written by Marshal Destremau
The Jet-pack
Once upon a time there lived a boy named Daniel, he lived on a farm, but he dreamed of being a scientist. When Daniel was eighteen he set off and headed for the village,there he found a junkyard and decided to construct a "sky-scraper ,"because in 1854 there was no such thing.
When he told some people what he was going to do all of them thought he was joking, somebody said " how could you build ANYTHING out of that junk" but Daniel just ignored him, and another person said "oh look a little boy trying to build something thats called a "sky-scraper" he teased but Daniel wasn't listening,
He hammered and chopped and sawed for two months and then at last it was done. Daniel woke up that morning to find a thumping on the door, and when he opened it, he gasped, it was kids and they had apparently seen the new sky-scraper and wanted Daniel to build something bigger in popularity, so Daniel was going to build another one of his inventions this time called a Jet-pack.
It was a huge sucess!People from all round the world wanted a Jet-pack, but Kevin couldn't sell them right now, first he had to see whether it worked or not, so Kevin quickly got changed int some protective clothes and went out to his backyard to build the jet-pack, it took a long time, he kept on finding two of the same thing, for example, he stuffed a second joystick into his pocket.
But, because all the things were so tiny, and he kept on nearly losing sight of them, he forgot all about it. But finally, one hour later he was finished, but not only that, he was also very proud of himself. Kevin quickly strapped the straps around his shoulders. However, Kevin had forgotten to attach the joystick( the exact same as the in his pocket, the one that he had completely forgotten about ) to the jet-pack, and had no control of it.
Suddenly he felt a seer of panick go up his spine, oh no, he thought as he tummbled into orbit, just as he thought he could not hold his breath any longer, he thought his eyes were closing, then he realised they actually were closing and panicked, but it was to late, "what's happening!" he cried as he blacked out and hurled even further into space.
When Kevin came to his senses, he was in a hospital back on his home planet. He was covered in blankets and tubes. Yes! he thought as he realised he must have been rescued, but the weird thing was that he still had his jet-pack on. The thing that Kevin didn't know was that time travels faster in space, so Kevin was no longer a famous scientist, he was just an ordinary kid with burnt clothes.
He tried to explain that he was meant to be a famous scientist, but gave up shortly because nearly all of the people thought he was joking. Suddenly Kevin's jet-pack re-activated and, once again, found himself blasting off towards orbit, "that wasn't meant to happen" said Kevin "I don't remember putting a reactivation link inside" but then he saw he had bigger problems, he was heading straight for a alien ship's cockpit, he tried to paddle away from it but it was no use, he just kept on zooming towards the cockpit. Just as Kevin thought he might just make it over to the side and around, SLAM!!! he bumped into the cockpit and went straight through all of the glass and blacked out.
When he came to his senses he began to explore, he didn't find much, only human bones and skulls, suddenly he heard voices, they became louder and louder until two alien-like people came round the corner and spotted Kevin, they thought he was some of robber, so they pushed and pulled until the had pushed until theyhad gotten Kevin into one of their very weird sells, instead of having ordinary steal bars, they had electrical rays.
All day Kevin tried to get out of the electrical bars, but each time he would either get an electrical or he would pass out for a couple of minutes. Suddenly the alien from the cockpit turned and saw Kevin, who was trying to escape and laughed, Kevin was so angry he punched the electrical bars but all he got back was electrical zapped hand, " you idiots!," Kevin shrieked at the top of his lungs, a couple of minutes later he passed out.
When Kevin came to his senses he was heading straight for Jupitar, when he had practically floated through Jupitar ( it's manely a big ball of gas he was directly headed towards Neptune, but when he realised it was Pluto, the coldest planet in the world, ( in 1854 they didn't know that Pluto wasn't actually not a planet) suddenly he remembered the spare joystick he had in his pocket, " how could I have forgotten about it!! " he cried, and turned in the direction of earth
Suddenly Kevin found himself in his bed and looked down to find
two things a Jet-pack and a mini Skyscraper
"Was that real?" wondered Kevin
he would never know
